Kirkwood Lake Tahoe, Offering the Deepest and Driest Snow

Northern California’s highest base elevation makes Kirkwood home to some of Sierra’s deepest and driest snow. For cross-country enthusiasts and extensive trail offers 80 kilometers of groomed track and skating lanes for all abilities. At Kirkwood Ski Resort, the traditional Alpine experience is enhanced by a lack of crowds and pure natural beauty. The gateway from the Bay Area is via traffic free Highway 88. Great condominium complexes and a ski in, ski out village afford comfortable accommodations and easy access to the slopes. It’s considered to be one one three South Lake Tahoe ski resorts to choose from including Heavenly, and Sierra at Tahoe.

Kirkwood offers its visitors 65 plus trails on over 2300 acres. It’s base elevation is 7,800 feet with a summit of 9,800 feet. Kirkwood’s longest run is a beautiful 2.4 miles long. Many locals consider Kirkwood to be one of their favorite resorts due to its higher elevation that offers more snow.

Kirkwood ski school offers personalized group, private ski lessons as well a snowboard lessons offered daily.
